Managed Computer Security FAQ

Answers to common questions about managed antivirus, dangerous-website filtering, computer health monitoring and software updates from User Friendly Security.

What is included in the managed computer security plan?

The core plan includes managed antivirus, web protection against known malicious and phishing sites, computer health monitoring and managed updates for supported software.

Who is the service for?

It is designed for home users, remote workers, home offices and small businesses in the United States that want ongoing computer protection without managing every security setting themselves.

How many computers can I protect?

Current plans cover up to 3, 6, 10, 20 or 50 supported computers. Choose the tier that fits your needs and contact us if your device count changes.

When do updates and maintenance run?

Routine maintenance is scheduled around 2:00 a.m. in the computer’s local time. A restart occurs only when an update requires it.

What happens if my computer is turned off at the scheduled time?

Eligible missed maintenance can run after the computer reconnects. The service is configured to avoid a surprise automatic restart after a missed schedule.

Does the plan include cloud backup?

No. Managed cloud backup is a separate service. We confirm the computer or server, storage requirement and recovery needs before enrollment.

Does the plan include email filtering?

No. Enhanced email security is a separate per-mailbox service for eligible Microsoft 365 and Exchange environments.

Is this a guarantee that nothing bad will happen?

No security service can guarantee that a device will never be infected, compromised or interrupted. The plan adds managed layers that reduce risk and help identify issues that need attention.

How does setup work?

After enrollment, we coordinate remote installation, confirm supported devices and configure the included services. An internet connection and permission to install the required software are needed.

How can I ask a question before buying?

Contact User Friendly Security or text 949-204-9923. We can confirm compatibility and help select the right device tier.
